It's been since 1995 when Monica started singing. She sounded awesome in the 1990's and the early 2000's. When I heard this album, I was worried that she would be like another Britney Spears or another Rihanna with their newer songs being down right garbage, but I was wrong. She still makes awesome songs from 1995 to present day. Keep being awesome Monica!👍

Respectfully, I have been a supporter of Monica since '95 I think this New Life album as been her best work thus far; writing, production, and vocally. This record is much more mature like Mary J "esk" She went more soul genre, gospel infused and borderline pop with heavy vocal backing/ (It All Belongs to Me). I think she was PUSHED vocally on this album in the BEST way. We heard more of her rustic bottom register w/ Cry & Biggest Mistake. Her upper register, head voice, falsetto were at its best in my opinion. I think her voice during the recording of 'New Life' was superb. From live performance stand point... Monica hits every note! She has conviction, honesty, and emotive tone. She sings with passion and clarity. Monica is really 'Ms. Every note Nina' lol. So looking forward to her eighth studio record 'CodeRED' which hit stores Q4 (12/18/2015)

    1) Cry 2) Time to Move On The vocals, instrumental and the lyrics bring out the best of Monica. Her voice is perfect for ballad music.

From BEGINNING to END (with the exception of the last song) this should go down as one of her best albums!
  • Good album.

This album is definitely for women who have found true love or happiness or both. I haven't found love yet, so I can't identify with most of the songs. Maybe when I'm a little older, in love and secure I will appreciate the songs better. But just because I'm not there yet, doesn't not mean this album is terrible or wack. Good album. I suggest it to anyone in love or more mature.
