So I thought I was getting the original version of this song, NOPE. Very disappointed, the original is way better. Refund is in order. I honestly don't understand why they butchered this song like this?

I think this thing was mastered by a deaf person. I thought the supremes ultimate collection sounded bad until I listened to this. Surely this is some engineer's revenge for music executives wanting everything compressed...right?

When I got this, I didn't realize I was getting a cover of his cover! Super lame and super disappointed; especially when I found out that I can't even get his first cover of this song on I-tunes, which is my favorite version of this song. So I ended up settling for the Essex original, paying over $2 and still don't have the song I wanted.

Saw MD at the Kansas State Fair in Sept. of '91 and he blew the roof off the grandstand with the original "Rock On"!!! He is an incredible performer and the nicest guy in the world!! My daughter met him in the dressing room and he gave her a hug!! So glad to know he's recording again!!

I have the David Essex version and this version, and I speak for everyone on this forum when I say both versions rule!!! Michael Damien does David Essex proud, wouldn't you agree? I think so.

I've always loved this song, and this has got to be the best version I've heard yet. If you're looking for a "Coffeehouse" rendition, this is not it. That's what I like about it - lots of production, lots of ear candy, blistering guitar, total accentuation of the groove by the vocal, backing vocals, instruments - just a really fun listen.
