    This release I feel is more about Lil Yachty than James Blake. Every Blake feature is haunting and performative and memorable. His own projects remain solid years after release. Lil Yachty has often disappointed in terms of lyricism or raw passion but “Let’s Start Here.” gave me hope. I could never tolerate his poorly written songs or the voice with which he used to sing them before but knowing James had such a direct hand in the production and presentation of this LP I decided to listen with fresh ears. I begrudgingly admit that I think I actually really like this. ‘Woo’ prevails as a solid exercise in wordsmithery and chorus-melodying for a rapper and expanding Drake-esque singer and an eerie interpolation of Yachty’s own performance by a well-established singer but every tracks retains worth. Just hit play on the first track and enjoy. 5/5. Also check out Yachty’s new album “Concrete Boys” with the rap group of the same name. It’s decent.

    This album was fantastic. It goes beyond just being music, almost like I am listening to beautiful sounds from an alternate universe. LOVED every song with the exception of the intro and outro, and even those were still solid. I’d give this album a 9 for quality and an 11 for creativity.
