Aaliyah Dana Haughton (born January 16, 1979 in Brooklyn NY - died August 25 2001 Marsh Harbour, Abacos Islands, Bahamas) was an American R&B and pop singer, dancer, fashion model and actress. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was raised in Detroit, Michigan, where she attended Detroit School of Performing Arts.     Aaliyah, to simply put it, was and is still one of the greatest. She was simply forward thinking, ahead of the game, in music when it came to sound (which included the assistance of Tim and Missy) and visually on top of her fashion sense. She was amazing, I’ll never forget her although I was 10 when she passed, she left a huge mark on my life because I really did love her soft voice and music videos thanks to my siblings listening to all 90s music that I love her 🕊 #AALIYAH
