  • Truth Has Arrived

More than amazing, this album is stunning. The voice of Ms. Giovanni still echoes like a ripple on a pond throughout the world. Her eye seeing all that is right and is not right and needs to be righted. The addition of James Cleveland and the Southern California Community Choir makes this all at once a civil rights legacy and a prayer. The title suggests that truth is on the way but I submit, that truth has arrived. It would be helpful if iTunes fixed the titles on the songs, as many are mixed up.

This album brings me back to my childhood and listening to the classics on Sunday. The only problem I have is that iTunes has the titles for My Tower (Pretty Little Baby) and Ego Tripping switched. Someone should correct that. Other than that I'm glad to have found this on iTunes.

This album makes me reflect on many years listening to my mom play music on Saturdays and Sundays. She would play Nikki and the choir would take you to another place. I am so excited to add this to my collection. I had the original copy that was damaged in a house fire. I will cherish this forever.

I too, grew up listening to this record on Sunday morings. I'm so glad that I now have it in my collection of music. It is a tribute to my Mother and Grand-Mother who played it on those Sunday mornings, while making me breakfast. SOUL STIRRING!

I knew it was Sunday morning when I awoke to this album as a child. I am so glad to have found it on ITunes - this is a classic for those of us lucky enough to have a culturally aware Mom like I did. The TRUTH is takin me back - and I'm glad about it!

A classic that should be in every gospel/r&b/hip hop lovin' music library. My mother played this album every Saturday and Sunday. Prof. Nikki is a legend! Don't sleep on this one...

i grew up with this record. my grandmother would play it on sunday mornings. it is beyond words--beautiful, spiritual, political (on a gospel record, no less)...and the choir, wow! i still have this LP. i cherish it and still spin it most sunday mornings. *iTunes--why not list (what i believe to be) the original cover of the beautiful baby with the afro? and this record is not from 2004; this record was out in the 70s. is the cover different because it was re-released?

This album of poetry is truly life changing. It defined an era and showed the power of the word. All power to Nikki.
