And I’m just finding out about this 10th anniversary edition in early 2022. I see the description says it was remastered for fidelity but does the mix sound quite a bit different to anyone else? There was a certain fuzziness to the old CDs and old MP3 mixes or maybe it’s just my memory but the mix and clarity on here seem to make the album sound very different on the main tracks. I’m not saying it’s bad and I remember all the words and sounds yet it doesn’t sound how I remember it. Maybe that’s because of being nearly 20 years now since I was really listening to this heavy. It’s still hard to believe that. On my first iPod with the circular gray touch click wheel that had like 1GB or something and was chunky and you could head the disk inside spinning, this album was the first I moved onto it. I never thought I’d get an iPod because I didn’t ask for one and it was unlike my parents to get the latest gadgets for my brother and I. I remember we also remember getting Napoleon Dynamite on DVD that Christmas but I was enamored with the unexpected iPod. I still remember how it felt and the cool metal back with the lit up black and white screen and pixelated yet clean now retro Apple don’t of the classic iPods. Before the iPod Touch and the iPhone those original click wheel iPods were so iconic. I had sn MP3 player before that which would hold like 2 or 3 low quality songs so the iPod was like a music Revolution to me. The novelty of having so much music in my pocket instead of deciding on which CD to skateboard to school with and hope the road wasn’t too bumpy if my anti-skip protection wasn’t working or hoping the batteries wouldn’t get too cold and the music would cut out on the Walkman. I appreciate those memories and the times of burning mixtapes and buying CDs with album art and lyrics and credits and sitting there simply enjoying the art and having that physical collection. I have an immense amount of memories tied to that iPod and that time in life playing Nintendo and skateboarding and life being so easy and falling in love so easily and listening to the Postal Service on my fancy early Gen iPod with the white headphones that meant you were rich at the time. Now white earbuds are ubiquitous and not seen as a status symbol not are AirPods really much of a symbol with all the competitors. Ah I could rant about this for a long time but a 10/10 album and awesome they added the covers, cuts, and demos. I might have to track down an original mix to see if I can hear the difference or if it’s just been so long that all the songs sound new to me again.

These new songs miss the mark. They don't have the raw emotional power of the originals. To many BPM and he sings like he's performing with owl city. I've partied to TPS and cried to TPS and I'm telling you if that old sound is what you're looking for then don't buy this.
  • A big disappointment! Do not buy album or any song!.
