About Antônio Carlos Jobim

Antônio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobim (January 25, 1927 – December 8, 1994), also known as Tom Jobim, was a Brazilian composer, pianist, songwriter, arranger and singer. Widely considered as one of the great exponents of Brazilian music, Jobim internationalized bossa nova and, with the help of important American artists, merged it with jazz in the 1960s to create a new sound with remarkable popular success. As such he is sometimes known as the "father of bossa nova". Read more on Last.fm

Jobin transended music and it's creativity. Charlie Byrd said that "His music was too sophisticated for American Audiences". We know that was not true back in the 60-70's but with todays overproduced crap it rings true with todays gerneration and lack of creativity. Jobin was a genius, Ck out the Sinatra #1, a true classic. Bob, Denver, Co

If I needed one album on a desert island it would be this one. No matter how many times I hear it, I still love it the same if not more.
