I was fortunate to be able to hear a performance of this same combination with Lara St. John and the Brooklyn Philharmonic in Central Park two summers ago. I am delighted to be able to cap that experience with a recording imbued with richness and detail. I love the combination; the realization of Piazzolla’s work by Leonid Desyatnikov helps to bind the two into a very apt union. The most prominent achievement, however, is the unique flavor Lara St. John's performance brings to the recording and how naturally it fits into both the world of the Baroque as well as that of the Tango.
SUPERBE !!!!

Once again Lara St John delivers an amazing performance combining her refreshing style with the youthful Simon Bolivar Orchestra. Both energize each other giving Vivaldi a new dimension.

Lara St. John's playing is angelic, ethereal, and top notch — as always. The Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra has rightly earned its place on the world stage of profession orchestras. Highly recommend!

When I was a young adult, I was introduced to Vivaldi and the Four Seasons. I still have the recording. Lara St. John and the Youth Orchestra bring magic to this great work of music. Not a note that isn't perfection. Kudos for this wonderful recording. Buy it and gift it to all your friends.

This is a really fantastic album. It sounds so fresh and crisp.... however, it seems like the Four Seasons was almost re-written with this album. It sounds quite different from what you've probably heard before. Don't get me wrong, though. It really is a very nice album, and it's interesting to see these people put their own spin on the old classics. You won't regret buying this.
Brilliant Recording

This is the finest recording the Vivaldi that I have heard. Her performance surpases both Joshua Bell and Janine Janson in its evocative interpretation and superb melodic line - "music of the spheres".
A Must purchase

The first time I had the opportunity to meet Ms. St. John was the week of a Vivaldi Four Seasons performance with the Virginia Symphony. Since then I have been looking forward to being able to hear her interpretation of this work again. Now thanks to her hard work both in performing and in seeing her own record label take off in a huge way I (and all the rest of us) have the opportunity to do exactly this.
This ain't your father's Four Seasons. Excellent work, Lara. Keep it up!
!!Good!!
