About Free the Robots

From Elsewhere comes Free the Robots, A balance of everything that is music. The Robot sound pays homage to the past with a drive for the future blending elements of Jazz, Hip Hop, Electronica, Bossanova, Experimental, Soul, Psychedelic, Rock, etc... In a musical world where anything that has a guitar can be called "rock," it's difficult to find music that is really creative. It's even harder to find a band that is willing to take risks, and expand their art. But those things can be found in Free the Robots." -Indie Music Project Read more on Last.fm

I sampled these few songs for the first time and I felt so compelled. My brain needed this, this, this fanatical craze of brilliantly light arousing sound and wonder. Yeah, it's good stuff

-After reading some of the reviews for this random EP I decided to buy it and give it a good listen [had a $50 gift card to burn]. I have a lot of Bonobo and I like to have chill jazzy electronic music to give my ears a break from my more intense music [dance/metal]. Man this EP is so good. FRESH is definatly a good way to describe this EP. My favorite songs would be tracks 1,2, and 6. The way Free the Robots has mixed the different types of insturments and sounds together is just plain wonderful. The melodys are great and the drums are classy. It is jsut so well done and very pleasant to listen too. This music is best closely listened to rather than played as background beats.. I can assure you this is so worth buying for its price. Definatly in a genre of its own in my music collection.

I can't get enough of this CD. I feel like I'm in some carnival of fabulous sound. Also, the bass is terrific ... like it's dancing with the music. Who are these guys? Make more. You are amazing.

Who are Free the Robots? Where did they come from? And when did the robots become enslaved? Seriously though if you are into stuff like RJD2, Amon Tobin, Kid Koala, Mix Master Mike, and the rest of the like you will love Free The Robots. The album is full of mellow back-beats, long breaks, and aggressive turntablism all put together into a delicious wall of sound for your ears. Who ever "Free the Robots" is you should definitely give them a try, you will not be disappointed.
