This album is one of my top 5 all time death/thrash albums next to Slayer-Reign in blood, Kreator-Pleasure to kill, Destruction-Infernal Overkill, and Celtic Frost-Morbid Tales....Schizophrenia pounds away with speed and incredible heaviness. And they mastered the rhythm change. What amazing pits in this album!! Simply put, you are not a true thrash metal fan if this album isn't in your library!!
  • One of the best!

This is an amizing album, even with the Low quality... which actually helps give it more personality.

I love Sepultura and this album is a perfect example why! Although I do prefer "Beneath the Remains" and even "Arise" this is a classic thrash album an a must own!

I don't get why beneath the remains is so succesful. This is so much better. The production gives the music a kind of atmosphere where if you close your eyes, you can imagine being in hell, and that means the music has depth. Their is no bad song on the record (though to the wall is kind of an angel of death rip off it's certainly better than the original) The riffs are thrashy and menacing, max's vocals sound like the devil himself, andreas' neo-classical soloing is top notch, igor's drum are pounding and driving, and the bass is punchy and gets the job done. One of my top 5 thrash albums. If your a fan of thrash/death and never heard this, do yourself a favor and get it.

It loud, fast, violent, metal at it's finest! From Start to finish, this low budget album show the raw beginings of Death Metal.Ever track will have you thrashing till your head Explodes! The intro itself is scary as all hell!(btw it an awesome Phyco theme) there is one song that seems to stick out thought. "the abyss" sounds like Randy Rhodes' "Dee" and Metallica's "Fade to black". Overall this shows the begining of Death Metal, A must buy!!
