The single "Rock It" was incredibly popular with the breakdancing trend of the 1980's. I was surprised that the rest of the album did not have the flavor. It is still fun to listen to and like the single "Oh Ya" from the band Yello it will stand out for years to come.

Hello there rockit, I have a question for you, there is a Fnaf song that you sang and it’s called Memory. I love listening to it but I went to search on iTunes and sadly isn’t there. Could you please add that song on iTunes. Thank you so much! Have a nice day!

This is Jazz. Herbie did a brave take on what was happening inside clubs and neighborhoods of inner cities all over the USA at that time. Rap and Hip-Hop was fused with everything back in the day yung-inz(Soul,Jazz,Funk,Punk,Reggae-etc)! Abstract dance and music! I hope I-Tunes can find some Tyrone Brunson and other Edwin Birdsong albums in the future to help other true listeners catch thier catalogs up!
Misunderstood album-not Jazz..but who cares?

This album is a very important album in terms of electronic music when it was released. I give Herbie big time credit for trying music of nature..and making it sound good. Jazz purists should not bother with this album for the most part-you won't like it. Jazz fans with open minds who understand that Herbie was always experimenting and pushing the limits will like this.
Fans of electronica/hip hop/dance music might like album also..at least get "Rockit" as it is a classic.

Great to here Herbie playing great music again. I saw him right before this album came out... and right before the flash-in-the-pan MTV. Herbie's music as with much of the music scene had been overtaken by Disco. ROcket was a huge song because of the video...you kids won't understand, but there was some mediocre music out there with awsome video...back in he good ol days
Just another chapter

Herbie Hancock continues to evolve and grow as an artist. Pigeon holing him is impossible. This album opened the door for what we now know as Hip Hop. I can say that I'm not a huge fan of the genre but he did foster ideas and techniques that are now used widely.
Just listen to Possibilites, his recent addition. Collaborating with artists of every type and genre he proves again that he is not standing in his past but forging onto a great future.
Keep it up Herbie!
